A Message from our Our Pastor

As we face the New Year, let us take a look at our Christian life. Ask Yourself, "How did I get through the year 2001?" Was it my good health, my job, my fellowship with family and friends? Or was it Christ as the light of my life?" God gives light to the darkness of our experiences. In the scriptures, he reminds us of how He directs our way by his word. If we would only follow His directions, life could be lived with fewer conflicts.

When Christ is the light of your life, you will want to live a Christian life.

You will:

  1. Read you Bible everyday to get to know Jesus better,
  2. Talk to him in prayer everyday,
  3. Tell others about the love of Jesus,
  4. Praise and worship the lord in a Godly Church where Jesus Christ is preached and worshiped,
  5. Obey the teachings of God's Word and demonstrate your life by your love and concern for others.

Jesus is calling this generation of men and women to be Godly influences in a corrupt society. He said in Mathew 5:13-14, "Ye are the salt of the earth.....Ye are the light of the world....."

If we are filled with the light of Christ, that light will shine out to others, and will so radiate outward that darkness will flee from us just as the night flees from the rising sun. We will live Godly lives and think Godly thoughts. "If we say that we have fellowship with him and walk in darkness, we lie, and do not know the truth: But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanseth us from all sin." 1 John 1:6-7.

Jesus teaches us to be the " light of the world.....", Mathew 5:14. The light represents our willingness to witness with our lives and good deeds, not just our talk. " Let your light so shine before Men, that they may see your good works and glorify your Father which is in Heaven,: Mathew 5:16.

Let the year 2002 not only be a new year but a " New you". Let God speak to you through his word and as you pray, to give you the light that he calls you to reflect. Turn your light on and keep it burning (godly influences, Christian fellowship, love and concern for others, and daily prayer and meditation) for the year 2002 and forever more. There is no need to fear darkness of doubt when God gives us the light of his Presence.

Have a Happy New Year,

and may God Bless you and your Family
